Important safety update: No burning in the open

IMPORTANT SAFETY UPDATE

With warm and dry weather continuing, we’re asking everyone to stop all controlled burning in the open.

Following the Government’s emergency alert yesterday, this includes garden waste, bonfires, fire pits, braziers and other open fires.

Conditions remain extremely dry, meaning even a small fire can quickly spread and become difficult to control.

Our crews have also been advised to extinguish open fires they come across as part of this guidance.

If you see a fire, call 999.
